Y Services pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II

 

It is with great sadness we join the country in mourning the loss of our monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. She showed such dedication to the young people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. Her commitment to charities and good causes was truly inspirational.

 

Our projects will be adapting their programs by offering chill/chat sessions. If you need to talk outside of youth projects, At A Loss, Young Minds and Kooth are available.

HAF Project – Summer 2022

We welcome the return of the HAF Project – Summer 2022. The project provides a hot meal, different themes, games and activities as well as a hamper for the family each week for free.

There are projects in Gosport (Elson), Fareham (Locks Heath) and Waterlooville (Wecock) delivering sessions over a 4 week period. Places need to be pre-booked. Days and times are slightly different at each week – a pdf copy of the leaflets are linked below.

 

Eligibility criteria (one or more of the following) – in receipt of free school meals, SEND, have a social worker, EHCP, EHH, are Ukrainian or Afghan refugee.

Summer PlaYrangers

We are beyond excited to announce details for our Summer PlaYrangers 2022. There are sessions at a variety of different locations in Fareham, Gosport and Waterlooville (links to download pdf’s below)

 

With fantastic new themes and lots of brilliant activities planned be sure to make a note in your calendar and bring your little ones along to our free sessions. In the event of poor weather please check out facebook.com/yplayrangers

 

Where Messy Play is listed we recommend your child/children wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy. We do offer aprons but there is a limited amount available.

Gig For Ukraine

Y Services are excited to announce Gig For Ukraine, the first gig taking place post pandemic!

Gig For Ukraine will be at Genesis Centre, Locks Heath on Saturday 2 July from 7pm until 9.30pm. Tickets are just £5, all proceeds go to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

The gig features performances from Rose Water, The Dreamers and many more performances by young people.

Y Aspire is Open to All

Y Aspire is open for all. The mentoring project by Y Services is here to support you into work, education or training. The only requirement is the desire to work or learn.

A truly inclusive project, we have translated the poster to Ukrainian and passed details on to host families of Ukrainian refugees. If you would like the poster translated to a different language please drop us a line. Poster translated using the ‘Say Hi Translate’ app.

Waitrose Funding Donation

 

Y Services has recently received a welcome funding boost of £400 from Waitrose & Partners Stoke Road store in Gosport.

 

Andy Kennedy, Chair of Trustees (pictured), said “We were delighted to receive the message that our charity was put forward to receive a “Give A Little Love” donation from Waitrose in Gosport.

Y Services delivers youth work to young people from varying backgrounds in Gosport and this kind donation will help to continue to support local young people.”

Easter HAF 2022 Round Up

 

 

 

Y Services provide HAF (Holidays, Activities and Food) projects during school holidays. The Easter HAF 2022 projects were in three areas – Elson, Locks Heath and new location, Wecock Farm in Waterlooville. Take a look at the round up of the Easter HAF 2022 projects –

 

The project provides activities, games, support and a freshly made cooked meal plus a food hamper for the family to enjoy – all for FREE! Due to funding criteria, spaces were available to young people who are eligible for free school meals.

Global Recycling Day initiative

 

 Y Services are celebrating Global Recycling Day (18 March) by inviting young people to make a pledge to reduce single use plastics, think of different ways to reuse everyday items or up the amount they recycle.

We have teamed up with Y Scrapstore and will offer each young person a free bag of scrap on completion of their pledge. (Conditions apply)

Rainbow Rangers Play Sessions

 

Rainbow Ranger play sessions are back!

 

Rainbow Rangers is an informal coffee morning for parents and carers of transgender and gender variant children.

 

It’s a great opportunity to meet with other parents in the area to discuss how to support your young person and share ideas that have helped. Support and information around terminology and signposting from professional youth workers. It is also a play session for the children to be able to meet with peers in a safe supportive environment.
